Characteristics of good fatten pigs

The characteristics of good fatten pigs will affect the purchase price and also affect the profit of the farm.  We can divide the characteristics of good fatten pigs into two types.

1.Characteristics that can be seen externally by the appearance of pigs.
    - Head of fatten pigs : The head must be small and the face must be long enough for the species. If the face is short and wrinkled it may mean that the pig has health problems that affect the growth of the pig.
    - Ear of fatten pigs : The ear must have a regular size for its species, not too small or too large and in good proportion.
    - Legs and Hock of fatten pigs : Both of them must be strong and straight up, no crooked legs, no swelling or wounded hock and appropriate for its species.
    - Claw and paw of fatten pigs : They should be in the same size, full, no cracks.
    - Body of fatten pigs : They must have a long body and not too fat.  A long body indicates a good quality pork carcass because of the large meat tenderloin with its three layers of meat, less fat which is the most demanded of the meat market.
    - The hip of fatten pigs : The hip is big and tight. It is said that a pig with great meat on the hip is a very good quality meat.
    - Front shoulder of fatten pigs : A large and thick shoulder indicates that the pigs have a fleshy shoulder and pork blade shoulder.
    - Stomach of fatten pigs : The stomach should not be hanging. The stomach is the part that indicates that the pigs has fat
    - Skin and hair of fatten pigs : Skin and hair must be smooth, no cracks, no coarse hair, no long hair and dry coarse.
    - Eye of the fatten pigs : The eyes of pigs must be bright, no tears, no gum in the eyes because the eyes usually indicate the health of the pigs.
    - Nose of fatten pigs : There must be no mucus, dry, no wrinkles and no deformity.
    - Chin of fatten pigs : The chin should not be big and hanging as it shows the good quality of the pigs.


2. The good interior characteristics of the pig cannot be seen by the eyes but they can be seen by external factors.
    - The good sirloin must be  large, long and can be seen from the outside of the pigs body. The fatten pigs must be well-muscled and have a long, thick spine.
    -The good rump must be large and tight and can be seen from outside by the large and tight hip.
    - The good streaky pork must have red meat with fat inserted in the stomach layer which can be seen from the stomach of pigs that are not big or hanging too much.
    -The good tenderloin must be long and big and that can be seen from the neck of the pigs which need to be thick and long.
